A fantastic weekend featured a Friday-night gathering at JT’s and a post-race team dinner. The marathon itself featured brutal humidity that forced everyone to either alter their race plans or suffer the consequences. Not even race leader Daniel Do Nascimento was immune, as the elite literally collapsed at the 21-mile mark and did not finish.
Of the 47,745 official finishers, 39 were Osprey. Jigar was a welcome presence at the finish line, Jungyon manned the much-needed Mile 26 water table, and a large Osprey cheer station coaxed the team down 5th Avenue.
Despite the conditions, Original Alex managed a marathon PR, and several Osprey earned club points (1 point for Men, 1 point for Women):
Kaitlin, Lee, and Courtney earned 67th Place among Women
Lee, Courtney, and Patricia earned 25th place among Masters Women
Patricia, Lynn, and Judith earned 23rd place among Masters Women 50+
Caspar, Alex G, and Neil earned 88th place among Masters Men
